Location next to the river is fantastic for exploring. The room was pretty small, not what I expected for the price. Staff were friendly, and the water bottle filling stations were a nice touch.

The location is perfect, right in the heart of all the action! The staff were super friendly and helpful, making my stay feel extra special. Plus, the river view from my room was just breathtaking!
Can't recommend highly enough! ❤️😊

Room was spacious with 2 big beds and 2 bathrooms. Staff was friendly and helpful, making our trip easy.
It was pricey, but considering the service, it’s still worth it.

Excellent location, excellent experience with a magnificent view from the 19th floor and friendly staff who were always willing to help.
Nothing to improve.

The location is fantastic, right near the Riverwalk and major attractions. The bed was uncomfortable and felt like two twins pushed together. Friendly staff offered complimentary wine and cheese at 5 PM. Parking was a bit pricey at $53 per day.

I stayed in a cramped room with a noisy air conditioner and a door that swung awkwardly into a cabinet. The lack of soundproofing meant I was constantly jolted awake by neighbors slamming their doors. Frustrating doesn't begin to cover it.

I loved how you could step out the door and immediately be next to the river beautifying my walks while heading to must-see attractions like the Bean and so many amazing restaurants within just a few steps such as the Purple Pig and O'Brien's Riverwalk Cafe plus the hotel provided all the essentials like a comfy bed and clean room but it would be great if the valet service could be a little quicker.

Location is stellar. Right in the center, surrounded by attractions. The view of the river is stunning, although the small window makes it hard to appreciate without moving. The bed? Exceptional. Pillows, divine. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. there was confusion regarding housekeeping — promised service didn't occur without a request. Some packages went missing during my stay as well, which raised concerns about attention to detail. Facilities were acceptable but lacked basic items like easy access to drinking water. the temperature control left something to be desired; I prefer more warmth. This hotel has potential but needs to sharpen its service and amenities. I'd return but with tempered expectations.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, with plush pillows that provided excellent support. Temperature control in the room was effective, allowing for a cozy atmosphere. I appreciated the well-equipped restrooms with good-quality toiletries. The view of the river from my window was lovely, inviting natural light that brightened the space. the room felt a bit dated, with worn furniture that could use an upgrade. Noise levels were generally low, providing a restful environment. A coffee machine added convenience, though a mini-fridge would have enhanced the stay. the room had many redeeming features, but minor improvements are needed.

You can't beat the location, it's right by the Riverwalk and tons of restaurants. Check-in was easy-peasy thanks to Pedro, who made sure we felt welcomed after a long day.
I got a room that wasn’t the one I booked, and the noise level was just a bit too 'live concert' for my taste.

I absolutely loved how everything I needed was within walking distance, from excellent restaurants to iconic attractions like Millennium Park, just over a kilometer away, and the Chicago Cultural Center, less than 600 meters away, making it easy for weekend strolls and exploration; the views of the river from my room were breathtaking, and the friendly staff certainly added to my enjoyable stay, although I would’ve preferred a little more attention to room cleaning during my visit.

Went wild at the zoo and partied at the Aquarium with Ellie the otter. The hotel, with its epic views, chill vibe, and dope coffee, was perfect for crashing after jamming at the Theatre and skating at Cloud Gate.
More rad nightlife options nearby for party animals! .

Our kids were enthralled by the vast array of 32,000 aquatic animals at the famous aquarium. Watching the endangered species and sea otter Ellie was a memorable experience. The hotel's cozy ambience and comfortable amenities ensured we had the best night's sleep after our adventurous days in the gorgeous city.
For dads, it would be great to have more family-friendly activities onsite.

During my xmas stay, the location was top-notch, right in front of famous tower, with easy access to dining and drinks. Walking to attractions was super convenient. Complimentary coffee in the lobby was a nice touch, and the gym, though a bit small, came in handy. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfy, making for a good night's sleep.
The cleaning service was unreliable, only coming when requested. The room was smaller than expected and not as clean as pictured online.

Clean rooms and a fantastic location make exploring the area a breeze—so many restaurants and shops within walking distance! The staff was warm and helpful, especially Tony at check-in, who made my birthday truly special with a room upgrade. the room felt dated. The mattress was worn, and I found a melted hair dryer tucked away. The lack of a restaurant or bar was disappointing, too. Loved the coffee station, but some areas seemed in need of upkeep. A mixed experience, but the positives shine bright! Would consider a return for the location and service.

Great location near river and Michigan Ave. Water bottle filling stations on each floor. Quick check out. Guest Closet and Keurig in room. Charging outlets everywhere. Option for parking validation. Bar on site. Excellent views of the river.
Felt really good, no complaints whatsoever.

The view from our 18th-floor window was breathtaking and the location was perfect for exploring the city. We appreciated the water stations on each floor and the helpful list of nearby places to visit. The complimentary coffee on the 2nd floor was a nice touch. I'll recommend this hotel.

The Museum of Contemporary Art was a blast, great Wi, Fi for surfing, a luxurious bed for napping, and top.
Loved the torn couch and urban, smelling room , an immersive experience best avoided.

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the exceptional service and friendliness of the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, even checking in on us after a medical emergency. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better, with easy access to all the attractions we wanted to visit. The rooms were clean and modern, with a comfy bed and big TV. The complimentary snacks and wine were a lovely touch. The WiFi worked perfectly, which was a big plus for us. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel when we return to Chicago!
That the hotel restaurant was closed. However, there was a fantastic bar right next door where we could get food and drinks.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on the River hotel where I recently stayed. The location was fantastic - right by the riverwalk and just a short walk to the magnificent mile and other attractions. The view from the room was stunning, especially during sunrise and at night. The staff were super welcoming and friendly, shoutout to Pedro for being exceptionally kind. The complimentary coffee and tea area was a nice touch for a quick break during the day. The two-room suite with a kitchenette and two bathrooms was perfect for our group of six teenagers, providing plenty of space and comfort. On the downside, the air conditioning was a bit noisy but at least it kept the room cool. One major issue was that the room wasn't cleaned for the entire four days of our stay, despite requesting it daily. there were some noisy neighbors slamming doors all night, which was quite disruptive. I'd say the River hotel is a solid choice for its great location, lovely view, and friendly staff. Just be prepared for some minor inconveniences with cleanliness and noise levels.

The location was awesome! Right in the heart of the city with great river views. The staff was super friendly, and there was a convenient 24, hour coffee machine on the second floor. The room was clean and comfy, with nice linens and comfortable beds.
We had some issues with cleanliness , dirty walls, clock, and charging station. The TV had no signal, and the paid, for river view was obstructed by dirty windows.

we had an amazing time at River. the location was perfect, close to the loop and magnificent mile. the staff were friendly and the free laundry facility was convenient. also, the hotel's vintage architecture and modern rooms provided a great experience.
Nothing at all 🙂

I chose River for its ideal location near popular attractions in Chicago. Surprisingly, the efficient and reliable food and grocery delivery service made my stay even more convenient.
